I am a freelance consultant  specialising in support, development and marketing  for pubs, restaurants and small hotels.

My background ranges over 25 years in the Hospitality business:

From Slug & Lettuce Pubs in the 80’s to Oxford Polytechnic Hotel Management School; to 10 years with Hilton Hotels; to 10 years + of buying and developing my own gastro style pubs with rooms, and music bars; to recent years on developing and advising others. I have seen great success and great failures and mostly learnt more from the failures!

I currently oversee 9 Pub Restaurant sites for British Country Inns – in the Midlands.  I have managed to develop difficult sites into profitability in the middle of the current recession!

I am based in the West Midlands.

Buying a Pub or Restaurant?

If you are considering buying a business at the moment and want a detailed second opinion I charge a flat fee of £295 for a formal opinion. Fee includes analysis of the existing business based on a site visit; analysis of the competition; a review of your plans; and the development a business plan to support a lending application.

I offer help in a range of areas from the more obvious loss making and cash crisis situations to subtler improvements in customer service and product delivery.  My time spent with you  can be as short as a day’s visit; or a Gordon Ramsey style blitz spending several days working closely in the business to get to the root of a problem quickly; through to longer term project work over several months.
